Hi There,
I’m currently in the process of applying to medical school, with my AMCAS recently having been verified and set to schools. I’m now receiving a bunch of secondaries, and curious as to what the timeline/turnaround on them should be. I’ve read about two weeks or so is recommended, however, with receiving so many secondaries at once, I think it’ll be tough to submit all of them within two weeks of receiving them.. Do you agree with aiming for a two week turnaround?
Furthermore, is there such a thing as turning in a secondary too soon (in just a day or two)? I’m worried that even if I put in the necessary time and effort in on a secondary, the admissions committee may think I rushed it just because it was submitted in one or two days. Thoughts?
Thanks for any help,
Tom
LifeofaMedStudentKeymasterI think 2 weeks is a good timeframe to shoot for. An issue of too many secondaries is certainly a “good” problem to have. As such, I would focus on your most desired programs first, put in maximum effort, and send those off as you finish. If a few less desired programs make it out in >2weeks then it hopefully isn’t as much of a worry.
There is no such thing as “too quick” as long as you do a good job. Best of luck!
